Ok so usually when u hear that someone is knocking out a FREE set of tracks for your listening pleasure amid the first reactions of being grateful and pleased that it’s free, you also begin to think about the first time you were told “If it seems too good to be true it probably is” …. however this doesn’t apply here.

This 9 track banger is absolute FIRE and contains something for absolutely everyone, the only way you are not going to feel this is if you have no love of Hip Hop whatsoever.

This is a complete encapsulation of everything Hip Hop should be,  the best in the business doing their thing with Stealf at the wheel driving some thumping beats adding his unique twist on such classics.

It is a composition of tracks of which everyone will have a favorite and is the perfect companion for anyone who has a musical device to turn up loud !!

With all the heavy hitters of the hip hop world on “The Mixing Bowl” it seems a given that this was going to work, but there is a sense of responsibility with such  material and a great pressure to do each track justice when you have such names as Game, Joe Budden, Jim Jones, Lil Wayne, Kayne West and Jay Z to name but a few, featured on this epic compilation of Stealf remixes.

Our personal favorites out of this bunch have to be “The Announcing of a classic” – Jay-Z and Kanye West and “Hello West Coast” – Game, Dr. Dre & Ice Cube, these tracks will take you back to the good old days of Hip Hop and will show you how a remix can revive the memories of classic tracks, with a modern twist that makes you want to bump out these beats all over again.

“The Mixing Bowl” is an absolute banger that you need to have on your tracklist, we cant get enough of this and it seems to go harder every time you listen to it…… this a 10/10 composition of the best by the best …. hats off to Stealf he has done it again.

DJ Khalil – Dre Is Close To Releasing Detox.

Posted by Tom On June - 3 - 2011

Producer DJ Khalil recently revealed his thoughts on the progress of Dr. Dre’s third and undoubtedly final studio album, the highly anticipated and long awaited Detox.
Dre has so far this year dropped two singles from the album,  “Kush” and “I Need A Doctor” featuring Eminem, accompanied by an encapsulating video.

However to many fans frustration a definitive release date for Detox has yet to confirmed, with many wondering if the album will yet again be pushed back and be slated as a 2012 release.
DJ Khalil, worked with Dre on  the single “Kush” and has stated the album is in its “final stretches” of production.

“Dre’s album is definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch,” DJ Khalil explained to Billboard. “He has the record going, but I’m sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he’s not comfortable putting it out yet.”

We are as yet still unable to confirm a release date, but will update as soon as any further information becomes available.

Eminem Could Receive an Extra $30 Million in Royalties From F.B.T. Productions Lawsuit

F.B.T. Productions, the outfit accredited with discovering Eminem in 1995 and producing many of Em’s tracks filed a lawsuit back in 2007. The claim was that Aftermath did not have the right to distribute the music digitally to people such as Apple and other providers.

Universal Music Group (UMG) filed an appeal with the 9th Circuit Court in 2010  after Eminem and F.B.T. Productions were awarded half of the royalties of digital downloads. The appeal was overruled and UMG took their case to the Supreme Court who refused to hear the appeal.

During an interview with the New York Times, Joel Martin explained:

“As of now it’s worth $17 million or $20 million, but on a future accounting basis, five or 10 years from now, it could easily be a $40 million to $50 million issue,”

This type of case raises many questions over how royalties are distributed and reinforces the fact that the music industry has and is still changing. Digital distribution has changed the music industry in so many ways, both from a positive and a negative perspective and the future of the industry is almost certainly intertwined with how the major labels choose to embrace the digital age.
