According to sources from AllHipHop.com the recent leak of his forthcoming track ‘Under Pressure’ from the up and coming Detox album is unmastered and unfinished, and has stated that fans should wait untill it is ready and then they will hear the finished copy directly from The Doc himself.

The current leaked version is said to be just over 2 mins in length and sees the use of Kraftwerks ‘Trans Euro Express’ sample, but has no chorus at present and sees 2 verses from Dre and one from Jay-z.

Speaking on his Interscopes official website Dre states,

“I want to set the record straight for everybody who’s been waiting to hear my music, the song that’s on the internet is an incomplete song that I’m still working on. When it’s ready, you’ll be hearing it from me.

Back in April Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine confirmed that the track would be the title track on the ‘Detox’ Album.

This isn’t the first time that The Doc has suffered from such problems with leaks, after 2009 saw tracks with Nas and T.I leak onto the internet even before Dre himself had added any Vocals.

‘Detox’ is still due to be released this year but this appears far from concrete.

Game Confirms Release Date for “R.E.D” Album

Posted by Jay On April - 11 - 2010

The “R.E.D.” album was originally expected to release as early as February this year but has been delayed twice. The album is Game’s fourth major studio project and sees him reunite with Aftermath Records. The album is now confirmed to drop on June 15th this year with production from some of the major players including Dr. Dre and Pharrell.

Game had said that he was ready to retire after his “LAX” album in 2008 but decided to release another album titled “D.O.C” (Diary of Compton) with the help from original members of N.W.A. He decided not to release when it became apparent it wouldn’t be possible to get the input he needed from Dre, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.

In a previous interview Game explained the reason for the title “R.E.D”: “[What I was working on], the fans just started calling it R.E.D. for some reason, I don’t even know. I had [previously] said that I would re-dedicate myself to Hip Hop, and they just took that and was like R.E.D. – rededicated. I went along with it, man.”

The album looks to be a promising project, with backing from the Cool & Dre single “Shake” and production from some of the best in the industry.

SUN0112 ICE CUBE-1

Rap legend Ice Cube sparked a frenzy of speculation after it appeared to many that he had taken a shot at Dr Dre and Eminem, in a recent live performance of “drink the Kool-Aid”.

During the live performance Ice Cube performed the following lyrics,

“I ain’t the doctor / This ain’t the patient / This ain’t that nigga always on vacation / This ain’t no white boy’s rehabilitation…”

Which sparked a frenzy on the internet speculating whether the former NWA colleague of Dr Dre was taking a shot at him. Which even had the good Doctor himself questioning the lyrics from his former colleague,

“Dr. Dre asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues Show last Saturday” Cube stated “I did one of my new songs called ‘Drink The Pool-Aid’ which got everybody thinking I’m dissing the whole industry…lol ‘You internet roaches…’ I told Dre that I’d never diss the man that got me started.” He reported via AftermathMusic.co.uk

Ice Cube then went on to speculate that he could even appear on Dr Dre’s upcoming Detox Album,

“He played me some tracks set for the up and coming Detox record and we talked about me jumping on board the project,” he stated. “Of course I talked about him doing shit on my record and he said he’d bless the album.”

Dr. Dre Pushes Forward the Release of Detox

Posted by Jay On April - 6 - 2010

Dre has now said that he plans to release his solo album Detox this year. He has also confirmed that the new single Under Pressure, featuring none other than Jay-Z will likely be released this month.

Dre has now said that he plans to release his solo album “Detox” this year. He has also confirmed that the new single “Under Pressure”, featuring none other than Jay-Z will likely be released this month. In an interview with CNBC he dropped the news stating that: “Yes, hopefully we’ll be releasing ['Under Pressure'] in the next two weeks or so.” He then went on to talk about the long awaited solo album: “I’m definitely gonna be putting the album out this year. Finally, you know, and I think everybody is gonna be happy with it. That’s it right now. I’m just trying to finish this record, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it.”

Dre explained that the continued delay to the album was mainly due to the considerable amount of studio time he has dedicated to other artists. It would be great to hear the album drop this year but I think that by now, everyone is taking the news with a pinch of salt! The album has had so many setbacks that it has become more myth than reality. Former Aftermath Records Stat Quo recently commented on the release of “Detox” and gave his thoughts on why the album has taken so long: “If you want my opinion on it, I think he wants to be confident in what he has to put out as an ensemble piece. Dre is hip-hop in a sense, so hip-hop needs him to put out a great album, ’cause if he doesn’t, it affects all of us — not just what he does, but the whole culture…Dre is just all around a better artist, a better person.”

We’ll continue to monitor this story and give you an update as soon as we know more but for now, let us take comfort knowing that the new single with Jay-Z is confirmed and will be with us soon!
