Little Wayne has come under fire yet again from the legal system.
Despite being currently incarcerated, a bench warrant has been issued to the New Orleans star for failing to appear in court in Arizona on drugs and weapons charges. The warrant was issued by Superior Court Judge Mark Wayne Reeves.
The new legal dramas revisit an arrest after a routine border patrol check back in 2008 in which it is reported that cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun were found on Waynes tour bus.
Lil Waynes attourney JamesTilson attempted to have the proposed trial date in March postponed for 12 months, stating that it is not possible for Wayne to attend whilst he is imprisoned in another state.
“Mr. Carter is being detained involuntarily in another jurisdiction,” Tilson told the Yuma Sun. “It does not appear that a trial will be occurring anytime within the next 8 to 12 months.”
This news wont be of any joy to Wayne who is currently serving a 1 year jail sentence fro attempted criminal possession of a firearm and is serving his year in protective custody, and is eligible for early release in 8 months for good behaviour.
Yuma County have raised Waynes bond from $10,000 to $150,000, and no new trial date has currently been arranged.
