This week finebeats caught up with emerging talent Krystatic. With the release of his Debut Album imminent, we caught up with Krystatic to find out his thoughts and views on the industry at the moment, and to see what we can expect from his good self.
Finebeats : Your Album ‘Stepping out the Box’ is set to drop after Christmas how big a deal is this for you?
Krystatic : Well this album release means the world to me because I’ve worked hard on this album, I’ve put alot of dedication and commitment into it and I really hope the fans enjoy this new album.
Finebeats : It has been said many times that the industry is saturated, what do you feel is going to make you stand out from any other emerging artists?
Krystatic : What makes me stand out from other artists is that I’m positive, my rap name is original my choruses are catchy, my rap voice is unique and I’ve got alot to give to the fans something they can relate too.
Finebeats : Who have been your main influences in your Journey to becoming a Hip Hop artist?
Krystatic : My main Influences were Tupac, Notorious BIG, Nas, LL Cool J, Ludacris, Christina Millian, Usher and Jagged Edge.
Finebeats : Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Krystatic : Hopefully performing all around the world global in front of millions of fans, getting alot of radio plays, making alot of music videos for MTV Base and maybe think about starting up my own clothing line.
Finebeats : If you could work with anybody on a track who would it be and why?
Krystatic : If I could work with anybody I’ll definitely like to work with Akon and Alicia Keys. Akon because he always make good music, he has a lot of catchy hooks which I feel if I did a track with him it could be a potential hit record and Alicia Keys because again she makes alot of good records and has a fantastic singing voice.
Finebeats : What have you found to be the hardest challenge in being an emerging artist?
Krystatic : The hardest thing for me as an emerging artist was getting my music out there and proving to the people that I had what it takes to be a successful artist.
Finebeats : Hip Hop has changed course many times in the past and will no doubt evolve again what is your perception of the future of hip hop?
Krystatic : My main perception is that hip hop will always be alive it is definitely growing mainly from the UK because their is alot of artists emerging on the hip hop side of music which I know in a few years time hip hop will be back on form like it was back in the early 90’s.
Finebeats : How would you describe your style?
Krystatic : I would describe my style my as positive, catchy, something people can relate too and no swearing. Krystatic : The traits of success in a artist is that they have to be motivated in what they do, have alot of commitment, dedication and there music needs to come from the heart so people can feel your passion and your strive to being successful.
Finebeats : Do you think it is getting harder for new artists to emerge into the industry?
Krystatic : Most definitely because their is alot of underrated artists out their that should be in the music industry right now, most artists arent getting the support they need to break through so most artists have to do all the work themselves to get some recognition thats why its so hard for upcoming artists to emerge.
Finebeats : The first track heard from your album ‘The taste’ sounds like this is just giving us a ‘taster’ of what is to come from you was this the plan?
Krystatic : Well really I just wanted to give out just a one track sample of whats to come from the new album when it is released, so maybe yeah I just wanted to give a sample to the fans to get them excited and ready for when it is released.
Finebeats : What else can we expect from you in the near future?
Krystatic : I should hopefully be making a music video to the Taste which I’ve been talking to my manager about getting it on MTV Base and Youtube also you can expect me to be on a UK tour next year if everything goes right the dates and shows will be posted on my myspace.
Finebeats: What do you think are the traits of a successfull Hip Hop artist ?
Krystatic :The traits of success in a artist is that they have to be motivated in what they do, have alot of comitment, dedication and there music needs to come from the heart so people can feel your passion and your strive to being successful.
Finebeats : Thank you for your time, best of luck for the future and please feel free to leave a closing statement with any shout outs you would like published.
