Dr Dre has filed a lawsuit against the Death Row record label of which he co-founded with Suge Knight.

Dr Dre, real name Andre Young has filed the lawsuit against the company which bought Death Row from bankrupcy, Wideawake – Death Row LLC.

Dre has reported that due to tensions with Suge Knight he has not seen any Royalties from his smash album The Chronic since he left the Label in 1996.

Suge Knight was forced to put Death Row up for sale after loosing a $107 Million default Judgment to Michael and Lydia Harris who claimed they had invested $1 Million into the company but had been cut out of the profits by Knight.

In 2008 the label was bought for $18 Million by WideAwake-Death Row Records LLC.

Dre insists the new owners, who have issued releases and reissues by Snoop Dogg and Kurupt, are selling digital, remastered copies of The Chronic and The Chronic Re-Lit, both without his permission.

The ownership of the label still has a huge question mark hanging over it as in November 2009 Laura Lavi who claims to be the sole CEO of WideAwake-Death Row Records LLC , accused co-owners New Solutions Financials of diverting funds and assets illegally.

We will update any more information as it becomes available .
