DMX has reportedly been sued $1M dollars after backing out of a celebrity boxing match scheduled to take place on December 12th.
The rapper was due to take on Eric Martinez in a 3 round celebrity bout in Birmingham Alabama in December and has backed out after Thunder Promotions allegedly refused to fix the fight for him or guarantee his safety .
After pulling out at short notice it left promoters in a panic to find a replacement, and has claimed his withdrawal has cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars.
It has been recently announced that fellow rapper Coolio is set to take his place in the ring, and it appears that promoters may have found more than they bargained for, as Coolio not only claims that he doesn’t want the fight fixed he has hit out with some fighting talk of his own, speaking out on a radio interview Coolio stated -
“I’ve been doing martial arts for 18 years…somebody gonna get knocked the f**k out,” Coolio declared, “Coolio don’t take a** whoopin’s well. I’ll tell you what, if I get into trouble, you gonna know because it’s gonna go from boxing to f**king wrestling and choking because I hate to lose.”
Thunder promotions filed the lawsuit yesterday against DMX, which will hardly be a welcome withdrawal, as it is claimed DMX currently owes the IRS $1.5M in back taxes already .
As for Coolio vs Martinez we simply can’t wait !
