Lil Wayne has escaped charge after his tourbus was stopped and searched in Falfurrias Texas on Dec 18th.

The 2 tour buses were stopped by border patrol after their sniffer dogs picked up the scent of Marijuana on board and a thus far undisclosed amount of the drug was discovered on board.

Wayne and the occupants were detained by border control, causing Wayne to miss a scheduled performance at the Laredo Entertainment Centre, which had to be rescheduled for the 19th.

This will no doubt come of some releif for Lil Wayne as he is set to recieve a year long prison sentance in February for attempted criminal posession of a weapon, after a .40 caliber pistol was discovered on his tour bus  in New York in 2007. Lil Wayne has pleaded Guilty to this charge.

Lupe fiasco has announced the cancellation of his mixtape ‘Friend of the people’ due to training commitments.

The mixtape was supposed to be released as a follow up to the thanksgiving release ‘Enemy of the state- a love story’.

The rapper announced the release of the new mixtape on twitter and was instantly surrounded by a frenzy of fans, which was again reflected when he cancelled the release in the same fashion. The rapper announced via his status that he would be cancelling it writing, “Friend of the people is cancelled- sorry folks, super busy training right for the SOTS (Summer On The Summit)  climb .

The SOTS climb will see Lupe Fiasco along with singers Santogold and Kenna, climing Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness for the need for clean water. This feat requires intense training to physically prepare the body for the strains it endures during such a climb.

However Lupe Fiasco did leave the fans with a positive message adding, “DON’T WORRY! SO MUCH MUSIC COMING IN 2010 JUST GET READY!”.

Brittany Murphy played ‘Alex’ in the 2002 film opposite rap star Eminem who played struggling rapper ‘B Rabbit’.

 Former Geto Boys member and Houston rap legend Willie D has pleaded guilty today to fraud.

The Former rap star scammed over 29 people out of $132,000, by targeting those looking to buy i-phones and other electronics on ebay. The victims of the scam all ordered the items in bulk and then received nothing but phony tracking numbers.

Federal agents took Willie D into custody at the Bush/Intercontinental airport back in may (2009)

He was later released on bond in July and entered a plea of not guilty to 15 counts of fraud.

The former rap legend will be sentenced on April 23rd and could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Rapper Kid Cudi has dropped out of Lady Gaga’s ‘Monster Ball’ Tour claiming it is in conflict with his own interests and hindering his ability to record his new album alongside conflicting with his new acting commitments.

“Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments,” a representative for the rapper said in a statement. “Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January.”

In related News the recent departure from the tour comes in the aftermath of an incident on December 12th when Kid Cudi assaulted fan member Michael Sharpe. The incident started when a member of the crowd threw a wallet on stage during his performance. After throwing it back into the crowd Sharpe caught the wallet and threw it back, an action which prompted Kid Cudi to jump of stage and punch him.

Sharpe has stated he will not press charges over the incident.

  This week finebeats caught up with emerging talent Krystatic. With the release of his Debut Album imminent, we caught up with Krystatic to find out his thoughts and views on the industry at the moment, and to see what we can expect from his good self.

Finebeats : Your Album ‘Stepping out the Box’ is set to drop after Christmas how big a deal is this for you?
 

Krystatic : Well this album release means the world to me because I’ve worked hard on this album, I’ve put alot of dedication and commitment into it and I really hope the fans enjoy this new album.
 
Finebeats : It has been said many times that the industry is saturated, what do you feel is going to make you stand out from any other emerging artists?

 Krystatic : What makes me stand out from other artists is that I’m positive, my rap name is original my choruses are catchy, my rap voice is unique and I’ve got alot to give to the fans something they can relate too.

KRYSTATIC is a nineteen year old rapper from the West Midlands who has been making a lot of noise in his own region. Now he is looking to take his sound worldwide with the release of his debut album ‘Stepping Out The Box’, an impressive fifteen track long player that’s due for release after Christmas. This here is the first track to be leaked from the project and it’s already getting feedback. This classic styled Hip-Hop banger entitled ‘The Taste’ is produced by Tru Fam Records CEO and talented beat maker Dezert Rhino. Krystatic is positive and has an uplifting approach to music that is earning him a lot of local radio play and live shows.

The ongoing scandal surrounding rapper DMX and his withdrawal from a celebrity mixed martial arts fight with Eric Martinez, has now been highlighted again with promoters blaming DMX for the postponement of  the fight involving his replacement, fellow rapper coolio.

After promoters refused to ‘fix’ the fight and guarantee the saftey of DMX he pulled out leaving promoters in a furious Scrabble to find a replacement. When they did find a replacement in the form of Coolio,  Thunder Promotions filed a $1m lawsuit against DMX.
