Tricksta is a DJ, producer, record label CEO, publicist, magazine editor, music consultant, journalist, music reviewer and general music enthusiast from Wolverhampton City in the West Midlands, England. Together with rapper LATE he founded Wolftown Recordings and Rago Magazine in May 1999, as well as founding the UK mixtape series UK Runnings in 2001 and the well respected promotions company Park Street Promotions in 2003. Tricksta is a man who has built his own empire independently and was quoted as ‘The hardest working man in UK Hip-Hop’ by the world’s longest running rap magazine Hip-Hop Connection. An ‘anti gang’ worker was yesterday sentenced to 12 years in prison for his part in a robbery on Bone Thugz- N- Harmony star Bizzy Bone in a California hotel room in January.

Marlow Jones and three co defendants, admitted beating Bizzy and robbing him of his Jewellery in the incident.

A concert in downtown Virginia featuring rap group New Boyz, descended into Chaos yesterday (November 23rd).

Crowds of people turned up at the Red Clay restaurant to see the group at a benefit Concert hosted by local radio station Jammin WJJS.

Things quickly turned to chaos and people were forced outside. Witnesses claimed to News7 that police used pepper spray on the crowds including women and children who had waited in line for as long as 2 hours.

“The police came and stated that it was over capacitated and that they needed everyone to leave,” a witness claimed. “We was still on the sidewalk with the kids and the police officers, they threatened the crowd to pepper spray, and so the crowd didn‘t move. And then they maced us and they obtained some kids and it was just a lot of raucous going on and they had the street blocked off. It was just a lot of problems. ”

Aisha Johnson spokesperson for the police strongly denied  this, and claimed only one man had been arrested and pepper sprayed, although the nature of the arrest is unclear.

This is the second time within a month that New Boyz  appearances have been cut short due to crowd disruption, on 8th November a free concert in Michigan had to be shut down due to multiple fights breaking out.

The New Boyz are currently promoting their new album ’skinny jeans and a mic’ which is on sale now.

Much has been said about Jay-z’s acceptance speech at the AMA awards on November 22nd. Many have speculated that Jay-z’s comment – “men lie, women lie, numbers don’t”, was a stab at 50 Cent’s latest floundering record sales.

Was this just a new Jay-z catchphrase, or was it a subliminal shot at the G-Unit CEO ?

 We think so especially with the mischievous laugh afterwards, which begs the question should Jay just come out and say what he gotta say ? We definitely think so especially after his repeated criticism for subliminal shots on numerous occasions.

Today saw the release of a new Diss track by Canibus and DZK, the track titled “air strike, (pop killer)” was released today on Warlab records, and sees Canibus calling out Eminem on a number of issues.

The pair (Eminem and Canibus), have had a long standing feud reportedly since 1998, despite Canibus attempting to squash it on a number of occasions, Eminem has made it perfectly clear, both on track and in interview that he has no desire to add him to his friends list.

Many have asked the question as to why Canibus is attempting to go after Eminem again now, as the rap pair’s beef has been laying dormant for a matter of years now. The most common and probable answer is that with Eminem re-emerging again and enjoying  success again with his 6th Studio Album  ’Relapse’ , Canibus has seen an opportunity to put his name in the limelight again. Canibus has never hit the heights of fame that Eminem has, and has never really managed to infiltrate the mainstream, so some have seen this as a final push to ‘get in the spotlight’ before  it’s too late .

With Eminem due to release another album in the near future this may prove to be a dangerous move for Canibus as Eminem has one of the best CV’s in the business when it comes to handling beef, as Ja Rule and Ray Benzino will both testify to after feeling the full force of the Slim Shady backlash, resulting in a very highly publicised dispute with most agreeing that in both instances Eminem came  out on top by a substantial margin.

This is definitely going to be one to keep an eye on, and should Eminem respond this has the potential to overshadow any of the current disputes within the Hip Hop world, but that is is of course if Eminem responds !

Is Canibus looking to ride on Eminem’s Success ?    Does Eminem still have the fight in him to handle another situation like this ?  If they lock horns, who will come out on top ?
