It only seems like five minutes ago that we were telling you about Sir Tomz's massive music video for 'The Struggle'. Well guess what? This Birmingham emcee, producer and CEO is back with his brand new music video which once again features the lush sung vocals of Nih illi and is directed, edited and produced by Peter Jordan from Auteurluirid.

With the recent events of the riots and looting in the UK it's been a time for reflection and deep thought for the whole population. It's a strange time here is the UK and there is no doubting that even those who thought there wasn't a government 'Lockdown' are now convinced there will be. This track is deeply lyrical and has a strong message as well as being delivered brilliantly over Ice Cube & Malay's massive 'You Know Me' beat.

"The Desolate Lands in my mind is a project I formulated in the mid 90's around 96. There are songs I recorded as a testament to that. It's basically a conceptual album, a "what if" the world went through some sort of catastrophic event like a global nuclear war, apocalyptic type thing. What's left after that? Not much, many deaths, a lot of sick people, some people who will try to take advantage of the situations etc. So The Conqueror is like the hero & a mercy killer in these days & times. I wanted this to be like a movie on disc or MP3's. Thanks to a lot of MC friends, DJ's & producers (especially DJ Extremidiz). We've crafted a project that I feel really hits the nail on the head & accomplished what we set out to do with this." - Gage

About Gage:

Gage got his start on the mic officially around 1994. Former member of the now defunct group V.H.S. Crew which consisted of Relm-1, Resek, Tizmoe (Trust), himself & others. Recently some of the material has been officially released from that era by Gage, Trust and with Relm's approval and artistic direction. That V.H.S. Crew – Tragic Outcome (Click Animosity origins Vol.1) can be purchased at Undergroundhiphopdotcom (Ughh) as a limited edition. Around 2007 Gage & Trust regrouped & formed Click Animosity & began almost immediately working on their debut album Feeders Of The Flamez which even without distribution was greeted with a very warm welcome and considered to be 1 of the best Hip Hop albums of 2010 by those lucky enough to have heard it.

Gage also has available his debut EP known as Dead Angel / The Gospel which was a total of 8 tracks with 3 original & 5 remixes. Gage & DJ Extremidiz wanted to bring a visual sound scape of a "What If" scenario , What if the Earth was all but destroyed by a cataclysmic event such as a series of nuclear attacks , Earth quakes , Tsunamis , or even an End Of Days type of scenario ? What would the world be like for those few who managed to survive such horrific events? Gage tackles the lyrical side of things with very vivid story telling & pains visual portraits while Dj Extremidiz and some other producers lend the grimey back ground for the sound track. The Desolate Lands is like an audio movie. "It's the post apocalyptic companion disc , besides clean water & safe shelter this is all you will need to survive" exclaims Gage jokingly yet with a serious face. Lullaby is an integral part of the London based crew H.O.O.D Fellaz who you may remember from their January 2011 UK Runnings mixtape 'New Year Resolution'. They have featured on many underground radio stations both in the UK and overseas and have featured on mixtapes hosted by the likes of Papoose, Freekey Zekey (Dipset) and Sheek Louch (D-Block), as well as featuring on various volumes of the UK Runnings mixtape series 'Grimewatch UK'.

Now emcee and producer Lullaby unleashes his debut mixtape entitled 'Not Normal' hosted and mixed by Tricksta from UK Runnings. This eleven track mixtape is maybe not what you might think from a member of a crew known for doing harder edged grime and street rap. Fdot1 is back with the 2nd single from his new album "Money MusicK" entitled "She's So". We at Finebeats have recently become extremely excited by an offering sent to us to take a look at.  Jackitdown Brown has been on our radar for a while now and we were perhaps caught a little off guard by what we discovered. Please read on for our official two pennies on "Beats and Rhymes Vol.1"

The first thing you notice about this EP is the attention that has been paid to the unique sound that Jackitdown Brown brings, this attention has been noted by both artist and producer, as Jackitdown delivers bar after bar of smoothness which Stealf perfectly accompanies with some of his trademark tailored beat magic.

Tracks like "i'm real" particularly show off the partnership forged between artist and producer on this EP, with a typically Old School Beat,some adept sampling and smooth wordplay. However tracks like  "I Kill everything"  see's this partnership forge into something slightly more sinister, it works nicely and definitely gives off the right feel to show that Jackitdown is an artist with a nice degree of versatility to his delivery and vocabulary.

Overall this is an EP of which definitely shows that Jackitdown is ready to arrive and Stealf the beat puppet-master is still on course to stake his claim amongst the hardest working producers in the UK and Hip Hop right now.   Jackitdown Brown is looking like a Hip Hop force coming through and we look forward to hearing what he brings next

Ok so we hadn't taken a look at a new offering recently and decided we should inspect the latest release from Late as he brings the hip hop world the latest installment in his ever increasing discography.

Right from the off Late steps up with the swagger of a seasoned vet and is quick to remind the listener that he is a long time deep in this hip hop business and when it comes to being a long serving member of the hip hop game late has a proven ability to bring a certain wisdom to his work.

Throughout the 12 tracks it is refreshing to see a large amount of solo work from Late, and doesn't need to hide behind guests on every track, however when he does introduce the likes of  Iron Braydz, TBear, Supar Novar, K9, Genesis Elijah, Creamo, the integration works nicely and they bring new dimensions to the verse work.The carefully placed introduction of Jai boo at points in the album definitely brought a refreshing and at times more emotional feel to the table and worked nicely.

If we had one grumble we perhaps thought that there wasn't enough variety to the production as a whole, and while the beats were bouncy and sinister in places, we felt that we would have liked to have seen the album take different directions at certain points to refresh the palette so to speak.

The artist producer relationship between Late and Tricksta is definitely clear for all to see right from the off and the pair make a perfect partnership in showing what Wolftown is all about when it comes to hip hop.

All in all we thought it was another steady addition to Late's rapidly increasing C.V, but we would have liked to have seen it take on a little more variety in places. For all fans of Late this is an album you should add to your collection and grab it now while it is available on FREE download .
