Buju Banton has received a strong show of support from Gargamel Music Incorporated.
The Reggae star was arrested on December 10th on federal drugs charges for allegedly attempting to distribute 5 Kilo’s of cocaine.
However Gargamel president Tracii McGregor has confirmed that Banton will receive top legal representation in the form of David Oscar Markus, who is without doubt extremely experienced in high profile drug cases and was representative for former Panama military dictator Manuel Noriega .
Markus will replace Banton’s current attorney Herbert Walker III, who represented him at his initial court appearance.
“It’s on and popping. Walker has never really been our attorney,” McGregor stated to CaribWorldNews.com. “This is Buju and we’re going to get him the top legal representation there is. We are ready to fight. I saw him yesterday and told him to go inward and preserve you.”
Before the incident Banton was enjoying a spell of success with his latest album ‘Rasta got soul’ being nominated for a Grammy award, and also the completion of his music video for ‘optimistic soul’.
On december Banton waived his right to a bail hearing and will await trial in Tampa Florida, if convicted he faces a minimum of 20 years to life in prison.
