Last Friday (5th March) Waka Floka Flames gave a performance at World Of Skates ice rink in Indiana, whichled to 8 teens being shot.

The performance itself had to be abandoned before the end, due to a fight breaking out, and the safety marshalls evacuating everyone from the premisis.

Afterwards a gunman opened fire on the 200 teenagers who were waiting for their rides, hitting 8. The injured teens were taken to hospital and all injuries are said to be not life threatening.

Waka Flocka’s hype man was accused for inciting the initial violence after pitting Eastside against Westside in his performance.

Cmdr Michael Mallett said,

“The kids have separated themselves into east and west sides,” he states. “They’ve been doing it for many years now, but it’s gotten worse, especially when you have entertainers making references to East Side vs. West Side. The youth in our community have taken it to heart.”

The Return Of Dubbledge

Posted by Tom On March - 4 - 20101 COMMENT

London Rapper Dubbledge is back…
At the tail end of 09, Dubbledge dropped the incredible ‘One Inch Punch’Mix-CD, which saw the emcee bring an entire LP worth of lyrical heat overthe mid-90s most loved hip-hop instrumentals. But you wanted more – theheads demanded some material over original beats, and boy, does Edgedeliver. To bridge the gap before the album proper drops (with some very bigsurprise guest producers), here are two bangers that will surely whet theappetite for the impending madness of his sophmore LP. First up, ‘ChoicesChoices’ mixes heavy Ghosttown production that sounds like it’s been takenout of some French film-noir scene, with Edge’s trademark flow. Second tothe bat – the Madlib flavoured ‘The Trilogy’ is produced by world champ DJ,beat extraordinaire, DJ for Professor Green – DJ IQ. Hosted by Asaviour, this song is an untameable fire.

The Trilogy – Produced by DJ IQ hosted by Asaviour

Tenny Ten ‘Oh My Dayz’ Review

Posted by Tom On March - 1 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

We decided to start the week off by reviewing the latest offering by UK talent Tenny Ten a.k.a 10 Shott. The track is called ‘Oh my dayz’ and should be available for purchase today.

The first and most noticeable thing about this track is the tempo and energy, it is one of those tracks that if you hear it at a venue of any sorts, it will have you up on your feet jumping around the place like a lunatic !

You instantly get the feeling that this track will become one that every DJ is going to love having in his set list, reminding us of the first time we heard Wiley ‘wearing my rolex’ , it’s a great ‘get up and go’ track that not only invites you to listen to it, but to feel every single part of this immense energetic prime example of UK talent. With a smooth style that sees Tenny breezing through continuous bars of fire seemingly effortlessly, with a flow that can only be described as flawless.

‘Oh My Dayz’ had us going absolutely nuts and we have no doubt that this is going to be an absolute smash with the UK following and in the club as well.

Just for the pure fact that this had us bouncing from start to finish and the fact that we haven’t stopped listening to it, tells us that this track deserves nothing less than the big 5/5 .

Tenny Ten is about to make a huge impact with ‘Oh My Dayz’ and is the first artist onto our favorites list for 2010.

To all UK fans who only take one piece of advice from us …………. Add this to your 2010 collection.

Stealf

Posted by Tom On February - 28 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

Stealf started life off as a DJ before getting some inheritance money from his Grandpa. He had already decided that he wanted to try something new so he got himself some Denon CD decks and a Vestax mixer and began playing about with some tracks and working on the odd remix. It was at this time that he started to get interested in how beats were made and actually produced. So he then invested in a Boss SP-505 sampler and got started. With that sampler, he created my first ever beat ‘Gun Law’ and before long was hooked. He kept working on the Boss, learning all the basics before eventually getting Reason 3. With Reason he started getting some tracks together and they started to have a more musical feel and started sounding more and more complete. He then upgraded his sampler and got his first MPC… the MPC2000XL. This is where his game changed, and before long he fell in love with the sound of the Akai MPC.

After getting himself a decent turntable he began digging in the crates and started to learn the basics of sampling. From then he brought his own mixing desk and upgraded from the MPC 2000XL to the MPC 2500. He soon got a basic understanding of how to mix down a beat and layering sounds, as well as stepping up his sampling skills. Stealf was born and the beats just came together time after time! With his main influences being producers like Just Blaze, Jake One, 9th Wonder, Ron Browz, Havoc, Dre, Kanye West, DJ premier and his personal favourite The Alchemist he used all his skills and knowledge to start working with a string of emcees and has how submitted beats to the likes of G Unit, Young Jeezy, D Block, Def Jam, Swisha House, The Game/The Blackwall Street, Shady Records, Nas, Memphis Bleek…and loads more. Now with a brand new mixtape put together by DJ Ames, Stealf is creating a real buzz on the underground while he starts to work on his debut album which already features the likes of The Game, Jadakiss, Papoose, Marvelous, Manny Moscow and more… Read the rest of this entry »
